Les Fèvres
"Les Fèvres" can be roughly translated as "The Smiths"...
This event, organized by Ifram occurs every two years in Normandy.
It comprises of a show/sale part and some demonstrations.
Edition 2009


The 23rd, 24th and 25th Octobrer 2009 in the Castle-museum of Eu.
I had a stand on cutlery and Damas making with Joël and David.

Translation of the legend :
Gérard Heutte carrying out case hardening of a blade in goop (mix of vegetal fat and paraffin wax). Case hardening allows to have hard edge and soft blade back. The goop behaves like suet, formerly often used to harden blades or tools.
