n° 100 : Leather paring knife. Custom ergonomic handle.
- Asymmetric blade (chisel) in 90MCV8 steel. 42mm curved edge. Height 52mm. Razor sharpening.
- Handle in thuya burl. Length 100mm.

n° 82 : Leather paring knife
- Blade in 95MWC steel. Thickness 1mm. Height 15mm. Length 250mm. Satin finish.


         

n° 43 : Miniature Piemontese!
- Blade in 90MV8 steel (similar to O2), lenght 35 mm.
- Handle in Iron Wood, treated in linseed oil.
- Overall lenght 80 mm.
- Total weight : 12 g !




n° 42 : Failed Piemontese!
Three big troubles:
> The handle split during making. I have repaired it before knife assembly.
> The electroetching is of poor quality: The Stencil was dirty! The trial to recover (with dremel) made things worse...
> The wood was damaged on the mosaic pin hole edge. Impossible to recover even by reducing strongly the tickness.
- Blade in XC75 steel, case hardening in goop, length 85 mm.
- Handle in Yew, treated in linseed oil.
- Overall lenght 190 mm.
- Total weight: 60 grammes.

# 34 : Scraper
Too small for a knife ! Made with wood and metal scraps.
- Blade in XC75 steel, manual case hardening in goop.
- Handle in Bogotte, treated in linseed oil.
- Overall length 90 mm.
- Total weight: 23 grammes !


# 22 : Machete
Difficult to classify this ustensil in the knives, considering its size! Realized at the "Fête du Fer" (Festival of Iron 2006) with Jan.
- Blade in steel 55S7, case hardening in the goop.
- Handle in walnut, fixed without adhesive with brass rivets.
- Overall length 700 mm (yes, yes!).
- Total weight: A bit more than one kilogramme!


# 17 : Pendentive
- Medium steel (XC48).
- Leaf of tree shaped, nervures by chisel.
- Height 65 mm, width 25 mm.
- Total weight: 20 g.
- Owner: My daughter

It is repetition! The first of the kind (see below) doesn't fully satisfy me. This one is a little better... but I will do others of them!

# 15 : Sandwich Blade
- Sandwich: Heart in 135C3, with sides in old iron (older than 200 years). Water quennched (2 seconds) then oil. Polished then reveled in iron perchloride.
- Length 115 mm, width 31 mm, thickness at ricasso 5 mm, tang (crossing) 140 mm.
- Weight: 130 g.

On the photographs, the central layer appears in dark on the edge.

# 14 : Medieval lighter
- XC130, case hardening in water on approximately 5mm.
- Length 100 mm, width 35 mm.
- Total weight: 90 g.
- It is used with a flint to make sparks igniting tinder...

# 13 : Paper-knife
- XC48, case hardening by hand in thegoop. Revelation with iron perchloride
- Blade length 70 mm, thickness at the ricasso 3.5 mm, handle length 90 mm.
- Total weight: 75 g.

# 12 : Pendentive
- Mild steel (0.3% of carbon).
- Leaf of tree shaped.
- Height 65 mm, width 25 mm.
- Total weight: 28 g.

A little too massive for my linking. The jewellery should not be my thing!

# 11 : Blade of Piedmontese
- Blade in XC70, case hardening by hand in the goop. Revelation with iron perchloride, length 115 mm (without the pallet), thickness at the ricasso 2 mm.
- Axis hole: 3mm.
- Total weight: 35 g.

# 4 : Tanto blade
- Steel XC70, case hardening (clay and water), length of the blade without Nakago 270 mm.
- Weight: 235 g.
